Brian Chiou and Chiou Family Hope Scholarship

Purpose

The Office of International Affairs is calling for applications to the Brian Chiou and Chiou Family Hope Scholarship, funded by the Brian Chiou and Chiou Family Fund. This is a need-based scholarship open to all international students in active F-1 or J-1 status, with a preference for students with knowledge of or interest in Taiwanese culture.

Submission Criteria

Applicants should demonstrate their eligibility for this scholarship in a personal statement including an explanation of need, how they intend to use the funds and any other relevant information, such as the applicant’s interest in Taiwanese culture. Note that applicants will not be interviewed for this scholarship. They should take full advantage of this opportunity to explain their financial situation in writing.

The Office of International Affairs Grant Committee will review applications and recommend candidates to the Vice Provost and Associate Vice Provost for Global Strategies and International Affairs, who will make the final decision for the award(s).

Awards

One to two scholarships will be awarded up to $2,500. Awardees will be notified via email once they have been selected.
