New Brazilian Buckeyes to Watch

In this series, the Brazil Gateway will feature new Brazilian scholars and students who are joining the Buckeye family. Jose Carlos is an agronomist from the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri who will participate in The Ohio Program.

My name is Jose Carlos. I am an agronomist from the Federal University of Vales do Jequitinhonha and Mucuri, campus Diamantina in Minas Gerais, Brazil. I was accepted into The Ohio Program for a one-year agricultural exchange in the United States. It is a dream for me to visit the United States through the exchange program linked to Ohio State.

I am grateful for the professionalism and attention of those responsible for this program which gave me all the necessary support. I will arrive in Columbus, Ohio, in April. During this program, I intend to make new friends, learn about other cultures, improve my English, and prepare myself to enter a graduate degree program at Ohio State.
